I hope this will help you.
Weird comment about communism, as it has nothing to do with exceeding human potential, or anything like that... from the start, communism has been (said to be) the natural progress of society into a stateless society without any form of currency. The scientists and mathematicians who developed the theory was simply making note of how society had progressed until then (early 1800's,) and from there on made, what they felt, was the most obvious conclusion about how future would progress in regards to the means of production and the classes.
Btw, I know this has nothing to do with the topic at all, but you brought it up so... Soviet had a (in fact a very strong and brutal) state, Soviet had a currency, and classes. This means that contrary to popular western belief, Soviet per definition was not communistic, it was capitalistic. So has every other nation declaring itself communist been as well.
So, to summarize, please don't use communism as in the meaning of a violent dictatorship. As, by the original developers of the idea, a communist society would be nearly the "opposite" of such a society.

Information Week's Cary Doctorow muses in his lengthy article if it is indeed possible for a complete democracy to exist in MMOs. It's not just that namby-pamby "what the masses say goes in terms of game-rules" and what not, but a game where in-world property is really yours.
